Future Skills International – Electrical skills assessment
Are you an electrician thinking of living in Australia? Discover how Future Skills International can help you.
With high salaries and endless sunshine, Australia is a popular destination for electricians.
Why apply for an electrical skills assessment
You must be licensed to work in Australia as an electrician. The first stage is to apply for a skills assessment. If successful, you will be issued an Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR). The OTSR entitles you to a provisional electrical license. Following this, you must undertake your ‘Gap Training’ within Australia for 12 months before you can be granted a full license. The process of obtaining your full electrical license depends on which state or territory you work in.
A successful skills assessment is also required when applying for a skilled visa.

Great service, communication was excellent. Assessor called multiple times in the lead up (to the exam) to check I was preparing correctly. (He) was very accommodating on the day. Would highly recommend to other electricians looking to get their license over in Australia.
